From Vision to Collaboration: DigPlay Partners Meet in Krk
After officially launching the project earlier this spring, the DigPlay consortium met face-to-face for the first time in Krk, Croatia, on 27–28 May 2026. Bringing together representatives from all seven partner organisations, the meeting marked an important moment in transforming the project’s vision into coordinated action.
While online meetings are essential for international collaboration, spending two days together gave partners the opportunity to explore ideas in greater depth, challenge assumptions, and collectively shape how DigPlay will be delivered across Europe.
Building DigPlay Together
Across two intensive working days, the consortium explored every major aspect of the project—from research and assessment design to technology, educator engagement, communication and future pilot implementation. Rather than working in isolation, partners examined how each element connects to create a coherent experience for educators and young people.
A key focus was ensuring that research findings, the game-based assessment framework, the digital platform and educator resources evolve together, creating a solution that is both pedagogically robust and practical for real educational settings.
A Truly Multidisciplinary Partnership
One of DigPlay’s greatest strengths is the diversity of expertise within the consortium.
Researchers, educators, technology specialists, game developers, communication experts and employer representatives each contribute a different perspective to the project. The Krk meeting created valuable opportunities for these disciplines to work side by side, helping to ensure that every decision reflects both educational quality and real-world applicability.
This collaborative approach will remain central throughout the project as partners continue developing innovative ways to recognise digital competences through gameplay.
More Than a Meeting
The meeting was also an opportunity to establish common ways of working across the partnership. Through interactive workshops and collaborative planning sessions, partners aligned approaches, shared expertise and agreed on the foundations that will guide implementation over the coming months.
These conversations reinforced an important principle behind DigPlay: meaningful innovation happens when different perspectives come together around a shared purpose.
Continuing the Journey
The first in-person consortium meeting concluded with a clear sense of momentum and a shared commitment to delivering an innovative, inclusive approach to digital skills recognition.
As DigPlay progresses, the consortium will continue working closely across borders, combining expertise from education, technology, gaming and industry to create new opportunities for young people to have their digital capabilities recognised.
